Baypren CR 100 SEK series (Polychloroprene Rubber)

Baypren CR 100 SEK series (Polychloroprene Rubber) is an off-spec grade of polychloroprene (CR) produced from the polymerisation of chloroprene. The material is typically a combination of CR 100 and CR 200 series grades, containing low to medium crystallisation characteristics and a typical Mooney viscosity range of approximately 40–55. Because it originates from grade transitions, production start-ups, or off-spec batches, the material may contain a mix of CR grades, including 110, 112, 210, 211, and 216, providing a balanced processing profile suitable for general rubber compounding. The material is usually supplied in chip form, although rope, sheet, or slab forms may occasionally occur depending on the production process.

The main advantage of Baypren 100 SEK is its high cost efficiency compared to prime neoprene grades. While maintaining the inherent benefits of polychloroprene, such as excellent weathering, ozone resistance, flame resistance, and good mechanical properties, it offers manufacturers a significantly lower raw material cost. Due to this economic advantage, it is widely used as a cost-effective replacement or extender for rubber reclaim in many compounds. Manufacturers commonly blend it with prime CR or other rubbers, such as NR, SBR, and NBR, to reduce formulation costs while maintaining acceptable performance.

Baypren 100 SEK is widely used in general rubber goods, rubber sheeting, hoses, moulded products, railway components, footwear soles, flame-retardant compounds, and adhesive applications. It is particularly suitable for products where extremely tight property specifications are not required, allowing manufacturers to benefit from neoprene’s performance while achieving significant cost savings in the overall compound formulation
